I am currently trying to get back into the swing of things with my new class schedule. I only have two in person classes this semester because my minor 'media analysis' is only offered online. If you are wondering what media analysis is, I am basically learning about the history of media and the effects it has on society in the past and today. I chose this minor because media is something that we all use everyday, whether it be television, film, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I find that is important to learn how we can use media to our advantage in today's world where technology is so impactful. One of my current courses is 'sex, love, and romance in the media', which is very interesting to me personally. My major is human communication because I love learning why people communicate the way they do with each other. I find that my current media class ties into the way people communicate because of how the media influences our opinions on love and romance.
Enough about my school work, let's move onto life. I am currently trying to find an internship or job that relates to my passions in life: makeup, social media, blogging, and connecting with other people. As I am a senior in college, it is important to me that I find a job that I love doing because at the end of the day, it could be something that I am doing for the rest of my life. Let me be honest, finding a job is a lot of hard work, almost as hard as having a job. It is a constant job of creating cover letters and going on interviews, which gets tedious after a while, but will totally be worth it in the end. As for life in general, I cannot complain. I think I am in the stage every twenty something goes through in life, not knowing exactly what I want to do in life. Some days I feel more lost than others, but who doesn't feel that way? The future is closer than we think and that is a bit scary, but I have faith that I will figure it out in the end. Life is not intended to be easy, but that doesn't mean it cannot be great either. LOL, stop being cheesy... Okay, cheesiness is over now.
Before I finish my post, I just want to rant about appreciation. Appreciation is something by which I am driven, but not until recently have I realized how important it is to me. Whether it is using words or actions to show your gratitude, I think that it is very important to let people know when you appreciate the work they do for you. It isn't hard to say thank you. I think this is something that is lost when we are so involved with what we are doing, but it is something that needs to be emphasized. So remember the next time someone does something for you, tell or show them that you appreciate their efforts.
